Executive Team

Mr. Chambers is currently the Chairman of the Board & CEO of Intrepid Resources. He was recently the Chairman & CEO of Escalera Resources Co. Prior to Escalera, Mr. Chambers was the Managing Director of CCI’s Oil & Gas business. His responsibilities included managing the upstream business activities with a focus on building a domestic natural gas portfolio. Prior to CCI, Mr. Chambers spent 36 years in the upstream business with company affiliations including C&K Petroleum, Chambers Oil & Gas, Sheridan Energy, Calpine Oil & Gas and Rosetta Resources. As an executive with Calpine and Rosetta, he was responsible for acquiring over 1.2 TCF of natural gas reserves through corporate and asset transactions. Mr. Chambers served as Interim CEO of Rosetta Resources before his retirement in 2008.

Mr. De Ayala currently serves Intrepid Resources as EVP Corporate Development. He has extensive transactional experience and a record of team formation, asset management and restructuring. From 2018 – 2023, Mr. De Ayala served Sydri Energy Group and Ball Park as EVP BD, Board Member, and Investor. He previously served Linn Energy as VP of BD, Strategy and Planning. Between 2017-2018, he led, negotiated, and closed on 22 asset sales valued at $2 Billion. Prior to that, he was involved as part of the Linn BD team in acquiring over $12 Billion in conventional, shale, and EOR oil and gas assets since 2012. He previously served in leadership, corporate reserve, and staff engineer roles with Beryl Resources, Pogo Producing Company, British Gas, Wintershall/BASF, and Mobil. Mr. De Ayala earned his BS in Petroleum Engineering from The University of Texas and an MBA from St. Thomas University. He was a member of The University of Texas Petroleum Engineering Advisory Council, SPE, and is a registered Professional Engineer in Texas. Speaker engagements include 2018 SPE M&A Symposium and the 2017 A&D Strategies Workshop.
